No weight gain when you have quit smoking

Maybe I should say how to minimize weight gain once you have quit smoking.
I quit the first of March 2010 and have gained 8 pounds and that is enough. Studies show that your metabolism slows down when you quit smoking, but returns to normal after a few months.

I want to keep my weight loss at a minimum, quitting smoking is the most important thing at this time.

I hope others will join me in quitting smoking.

My Goals:
My goals are take off the 8 pounds that I have gained since March 2010, firm up this 50+ year old body. Not to feel deprived while doing the above.

My Program:
I started aerobic walking in the early 1980's, at that time I weighed 154 lbs, after giving birth to my son.

Since I quit smoking earlier this year, I am back to walking to keep extra weight off.

I am also limiting calorie intake to 1220-1550 per day.
