My name is Kate and I am 22 and in dire need to lose weight. Since starting university over 3 years ago I have gained 65 llbs. While living in the dorms I had the most unhealthy diet. Over the years I have become busy with classes, work, teaching, and student organizations so although I am now off campus and can get decent food, I have no time to work out. So I am taking advantage of the summer and losing weight. I want to lose weight to be healthy. I want to live a more active lifestyle and eat as properly as I can afford.

My Program:
I am on a 1200- 1500 a day calorie diet. I am working out 6 days a week. Alternating lifting and cardio to everyother day. Using Sunday as my resting day. Doing Yoga/ Tai Chi/ Meditation as often as I can.

Personal Information:
I go to University and I am studying Philosophy and Women's Studies.

Other Information:
I am a huge book nerd. I surround myself in them. I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. I listen to all sorts of music, but I have my favorite bands. Most are underground or just more indie than mainstream music. I don't watch much teevee, but I do like watching movies.

Hi there. I thought I would say hello as I had a very similar issue when I was in my undergrad - all I did was eat bad carbs as I was also a vegetarian (started eating some fish and chicken again after 12 yrs). I think I got up to the low 140s, which is the heaviest I've ever been - but far more importantly - I wasn't eating enough protein and ended up having an iron deficiency - so I'm very happy that you are taking care of yourself!
I also focused on women's studies and wrote my thesis on an area of feminist jurisprudence. Enjoy the rest of your studies!
