I love climbing, but being out of shape makes it harder than it needs to be, I think.

When I'm bigger, it's harder to squeeze into chimneys. When I'm not as strong, it's harder to stand up on pebbles and pull myself up when there are no pebbles to be found, and when I'm heavier there's more of me to pull up!

When I'm tired, it's harder to haul my 40lb pack up the trail, and I don't feel like climbing when I get to the rock; that is, if I even managed to get out of bed ...

When I don't like the way I look, it's harder to go to the local gym and climb on the plastic wall, the one with all the exercise machines pointed at it so everyone can watch.

I love climbing, but I haven't done it for a while now. I'd like to get back to it, and I think being healthy will make that easier.
