I started using SparkPeople about 3 years ago. It didn't last long. Not really sure why.

I ran and was athletic when I was younger. I really quit exercising after I got out of the Air Force in 2000.

I started running again July 2012. I do use running shoes. I've been through some calf injuries, but nothing major. It was hard losing weight because I really didn't know how many calories I was eating every day. Using SparkPeople has really helped me get my calorie intake under control and I am losing weight.

I am 202lbs and holding. This is the weight I was at when I separated from the Air Force. I have been refocusing to get down to 190lbs. I have added lifting weights to my running. I am up to running 6 miles. I plan to run a 10k sometime this summer. I should be up to 8 or 9 miles for a Long Slow Run by then.

My Goals:
Goal weight of 190lbs.
I am down to a 34 waist in my jeans. I want to get down to a 32 waist.


My Program:
I want to be fit so I can live a long life. My goal age is 90 years old. I want to get my weight to my goal level or below. Change the way I eat so I don't overdo it and gain all of the weight back. I run and lift weights to stay fit.



Personal Information:
I grew up in Southern California. I was active in school. Marched in band in the fall and winter and ran track in the spring. My friends and I were always out doing something. I road a bike until my senior year of high school.


Other Information:
My favorite author is Stephen R. Donaldson, Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. I am getting a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from Kaplan University. Nutrition has become a real passion. I am hoping to start my own practice and help people learn to eat healthy so that they can live a long life.
