Make the decision to do it!

I have been overweight basically all my life but it took a turn for the worse during high school. Now that I'm 30 and want to start a family, I'm super-motivated to reach my goals and I am making it happen. I love all the support on Sparkpeople and I love reading blogs from people who have had success. I am so happy to have found Sparkpeople and to be really making it happen!!

My Goals:
Walk a Half-Marathon - Done June 18, 2011 (Mayor's Half-Marathon Anchorage, AK)

Run/Walk a 5K - First one down - July 9, 2011 (Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure NYC)

Run/Walk a 10K - October 22, 2011 (NYC Rock N' Roll 10K Prospect Park)

Run a 5K the entire way - I have signed up for a 5K on March 24, 2012 with the goal of running the whole way!

Run a 10K the entire way -

Run a Half-Marathon - I have signed up again for the Mayor's Half-Marathon back home on June 23, 2012 with the goal of running it, or at least running long intervals the whole way.

My Program:
Tracking my food every day and working out. Cautiously indulging my new-found love of running.

Personal Information:
I currently live in NYC where I'm going to school for one year with my husband and dog. I'll be returning to my hometown of Anchorage Alaska in a few months and am excited to be returning as the new and improved me!

Glad you liked my 'mini rewards'!! I drag my hubby to a baby consignment shop like once a month, but I am never allowed to buy anything. Haha. So now, if I lost weight, I can pick a little something up each time! emoticon

Thank you for the nice comment on my page. You can totally do it! Whenever I feel tired and like I need to walk, I just slow down... but didn't stop running. Sometimes I felt like I was running so slow, I might as well have been walking. But I wasn't... I think that mentality helped me keep going a lot. Good luck with your 5K and half and please let me know how it goes :)
