Hello, My name is Donna and I am 56. I am starting over on my mission to lose weight and become healthier. I first started Spark two years ago this month. The first year I did great and lost nearly 60 pounds. I was riding an exercise bike, walking up to 3 miles several times a week and using some hand weights along with the exercises Spark offers. Some where along the road of fell into a deep hole filled with donuts, brownies, cup cakes and cookies I am still trying to pull myself out of the muck.I had a wonderful support group here on SP and feel like I let them down. During this last year I had two knee surgeries, the first one was to repair a torn meniscus followed by a partial knee replacement when the first one failed. I know Spark has all the tools we need IF we use them. I tend to isolate and haven't used my support system here on SP. So I am back and trying to get Sparked again.

My Goals:
First of all I need to look at this as a journey to a healthier life instead of deprivation of comfort foods. Make better food choices, drink water instead of diet coke/pepsi,ride my exercise bike at least once a day, read and post messages and work on self esteem.

My Program:
I rarely choose to follow the menu plan instead replacing many of the choices with foods I prefer. Logging all foods every meal, drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily. Reading nutrition labels on everything I buy looking for the lower calories options. Increasing my cardio on the stationary bike, doing toning and strenght training with dumbbells, bands and the swiss ball. Getting involved in challenges with others and continuing to challenge my own mini goals.

Personal Information:
I am from Western NY just south of Buffalo and a mile from the shores of Lake Erie in a small town where there are miles and miles of grape vinyards. In the fall the air is heavy with the sweetness of concord grapes. I moved here in October of 2004 after getting custody of my 14 yr old grandson who is now deceased. I decided to get serious about my weight to honor him and get healthier. I have 3 grown daughters ages 38, 36,34 and a son 32. None have a weight problem.

Other Information:
I love comedy and believe laughter is the best medicine. Did you know crying is also healing? So when I want to feel better I will watch movies like Beaches, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias and Notebook that brings out the tears and the laughter. My hobbies no longer involve buying every weight loss product out on the market. The best fat busting diet suppliment in the world is Omega-3 and WATER WATER and more WATER.
