For two years I sat at a desk and gained close to 20 pounds --feeling tired & heavy instead of energized & fit.

A low point was when TWO people within a week (friends I hadn't seen in months) congratulated me on my pregnancy. Umm.... not pregnant. Devastating!

Oct 2011 I joined a fitness studio, combining ST and cardio to get back in shape. It definitely costs money, but the accountability and inspiration has been worth it.

What I've learned:
Working out alone doesn't work for me right now -- I need the commitment of scheduled classes. It's made all the difference.

Positive motivation and self-talk keep me going. I certainly get discouraged at times, and let it go as soon as I can.

Beer, salt and fat make me fat. Period. I struggle with this.

Workouts help me feel Fantastic! Spinning in particular changes my outlook dramatically. Every time.

A regular fitness practice is ESSENTIAL for me.
Otherwise it's a slippery slope.
