2013- a year of choices

Hello! I am dedicated to regain a life of fitness, health and discipline! This year is all about sampling not stuffing and savoring each bite instead of mindless eating. I am not going to "diet" but rather change my portion sizes, change my choices, change my mindset. I am also going to become more aware of the graces and goodness in life. I want to take time and give thanks for how wonderful life really is!

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."--Mother Teresa

How many college kids do you have? It's great when they like coming home, even though we know we have to let them go back! Glad you had a good weekend!

I took your advice and blogged on our trip to Italy. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for your comment on my blog today!! Yes, there is definitely something that feels unbalanced with focusing SO MUCH on my food and exercise. But I'm glad I stuck to plan pretty close for the first month to test it out and LIVE it! I had been questioning before how much I wanted to "step it up" in terms of my commitment to health/fitness, and I think this past month gave me my answer: I want to focus more on clean, consistent food choices, and preparing 98% of my meals at home with quality ingredients; I also want to continue with a consistent ST plan, working diff. body parts like we have been doing-- I love it, and it gives me a direction when I'm in the gym. However... I don't like feeling SO CONFINED and consumed by a fear of "straying from plan." It's too much, and gets me feeling unhealthy mentally.

So, with those things in mind, I'll venture forward with Phase 2! I'm sticking to the workouts as best I can, and will continue to plan my meals and eat 5-6 small meals per day, but not worry if I have a meal out or a glass of wine here or there. I love my food and life. :D

That yoga mat was *exactly* what I needed. And I'm not kidding!

Hugs and thanks. Shelley
