I was strictly a volunteer, but have been recommended for "staff" for next year. I don't know what that entails or what's different about it, so I guess I'll see. I volunteered on Wednesday, which was great because then I got a "free day" during the actual convention where I didn't have to volunteer, but could attend. It was pretty awesome! Sometimes 3 hours of "guarding a door" gets tedious, though. But, for a broke college student like myself, worth it just to go. Because I have to agree with you: despite the crowds, lines, and frustration, I love going!
We actually camped out overnight next to the con just to say we did it once. It was really fun! I'd do it again. Funny, we camped out overnight for that same panel! We sat through Fringe, but I was there for Supernatural (right before) and my friends wanted to see Dr. Who. Very fun, but this year I spent way too much time in panels and not enough time wandering around looking at the fun stuff there was to see on the floor and around the center.
LoL I never knew what that Emoticon was supposed to be either
Maybe 1/2 marathon training is the right thing for you? My client who is a Dr. believes the human body is Not meant to run the marathon distance. Once we've done it a few times nothing to prove. It's just a personal sad good bye thing. I guess.
I've been decluttering and on long runs thinking alot about what really matters in Life.
