Hot Chocolate Run 5K 2014- got heavier but still fighting for my health.

This was in my early 20's and at this weight I was feeling comfortable with myself.

My reason to get healthy.

I joined SparkPeople December 29, 2008. I remember being desperate to find an electronic food tracker because I just don't do paper well, and stumbled into the site. My journey lacks perfection. I didn't instantly lose and I didn't stay with it for any long duration. I did keep coming back though. Over and over I would come back. Even when not "engaged" in the full site I had the daily motivational quote on my phone that kept me connected. I know it is the right thing and the right way for me, and now it is the right time to let it work.

Why have I struggled to stick with the site?
I believe it was the community piece. I am super introverted and don't tend to put myself out there with people I don't know at all. I fought against engaging significantly in the community for that reason. I made all kinds of excuses about how I could still do great without having to do that part. I was wrong and I'm changing my behavior this time to get more involved. It's tough for me at times, but I have to do this and it IS the way this site will help me get to my goals! At work I compensate for that introversion extremely successfully so I'm making the commitment to do the same here because I am worth it and I likely have something important to share that could help someone else too. Now I tell myself "it's selfish to stay quiet and not try to Spark others."

My Goals:
To move more
To eat when hungry and not much otherwise
To change my state of mind to be more positive and happier with my life

My Program:
Reek of positivity. Play it up like I'm on a soap opera as the queen of being positive even if I fake every bit of it.

Move more throughout the day and don't focus on "exercise" periods. Truly shoot for 10 minutes per day of structured exercise and the rest can only be done if it is fun for me.

Personal Information:
2014 was one of the most stressful times of my life. I'm taking back control for 2015 and looking for better outcomes.

I was referred for medically supervised weight loss and am starting 01/14/15.

    It would be cool to work in peer support. It would be cool to work in anything besides ending up in a call center. lol But I'm preparing myself, come what may.

    You said that well... I think sometimes when I binge, I DO think I'm giving the finger to the world. Kind of a silly thought process, but it happens. Last night was much better, though!
