I WANT TO BE A BIG LOSER!!!
My name is Yesenia. I joined SP on 1/6/2008 after hearing about it through a cable special on Fad Diets. To make a long story short. I was not an obese child nor teenager. I gain weight after having children, not surely why, stress, life, depression....... Whatever the reason that got me here, it is now time to do something about it. That is why I am here at Spark People.
UPDATE!! It is now August 30, 2011 and I have actually gain back whatever I lost and than some. 2011 has been a hectic year in my life. Last year I found out I had a thyroid problem (discouraging), I have been on meds for about 10 months and feel it is done nothing. I lost both my mother and grandmother this year. Life simply has been an emotional roller coaster this year. I've lost balance and focus of me and I need to somehow start again from zero.
I KNOW I CAN DO THIS AND I WILL DO THIS NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I FALL.
I am worth it. It is up to me if I lose or not lose it is my choice. No one can do this for me. I choose to control what goes in my mouth. I choose to do exercise or not do it. I have to make changes and stick to them. I need a lifestyle change there is no magic trick in this journey.
I do not have all the answers. I am still in the process. I am still struggling. I am still fighting obstacles, tempations, procastination daily. BUT.... I am not giving up until eventually everything in me (body, mind, heart, soul, thinking and my will) connect together and kick ass in this journey until we win this war.
Starting over again!
NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I FALL OR GIVE-IN I WILL NOT GIVE UP THIS FIGHT UNTIL I HAVE WON THE WAR!!!
I am from Chicago, female, 40 years old. I love the Biggest Loser Show, season 5 inspired me to get started in this journey.

Have a healthy weekend!
It's not always easy to compare apples to oranges when it comes to carbs. Fruits and vegetables come in all shapes and sizes, and while it might seem like one is a lower-carb choice than another, it may just seem that way because of size and weight differences. We leveled the playing field for you here, so you can compare apples to apples ... so to speak!
Note: To help you visualize a 50-gram portion, here are some examples: 10 grapes, 1/3 of a medium sized peach, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 35 blueberries, or 2 extra-long spears of asparagus.
#1 is ARUGULA!
It contains 2g of carbs in a 50-gram portion. One cup of arugula contains 1g of carbs.
Arugula is rich in phytonutrients, which may reduce the risk of several kinds of cancers, including breast, stomach, and colon.
