Slowly but Surely

I joined SP in May of 2011 to get out of a rut of poor food choices and too little exercise (resulting in a slow but steady weight gain of about 10-15 pounds over several years). I am Catholic, and realized that I was not treating my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. I don't want to become obsessive about the numbers on my scale or clothing tags, but I do want to be a good steward of this body God has given me.

I lost about 15 pounds between May and December of 2011, and then ...

I don't want to become obsessive about the numbers on my scale or clothing tags, but I do want to be a good steward of this body God has given me.

I lost about 15 pounds between May and December of 2011, and then lost my motivation, and gained around 5 of it back. By October 2013 I was within a few pounds of my goal weight, and then got pregnant! So for now I'm trying to have a healthy pregnancy, and worry about my goal weight after that. My lifetime goal is to stay around my final weight, but more importantly, to make sure I get good nutrition and an adequate amount of exercise each day. I still struggle a great deal with choosing healthy foods over junk food, and that's definitely something I need to overcome. Though since I got pregnant, I haven't been craving sweets like I used to. I hope this stays with me!

Jen, have a great day. Please remember that when you look in the mirror today, you are looking at God's masterpiece, His very best creation. So you can't complain about how you look. You are His very best. The apple of His eye. Made the way He chose. Isn't sad that we let the world tell us that we aren't a masterpiece. And to make matters worst, we believe what beautiful is to them. Isn't time we started believing we really are God's Masterpiece and feeling beautiful?

If we are to truly enjoy your life, NOW is the time. Not tomorrow or next week. Everyday is the perfect time to have a Best Day. So my dear friend, I am wishing you your best day today. Have fun unwrapping today; watching all the beauty around you, discovering another talent you have, learning something new, making a new friend, finding something you misplaced, creating something, being hugged, taking take long, bubble bath, picking wild flowers, enjoying your favorite song.
