I am a beautiful person. I am not proud of my weight, but I am ME. I am learning to accept me for me for who I am . . a strong, healthy, beautiful, sexy and curvy woman!! I am working on getting more active, eating healthier and learning to accept me for who I am.
Update from 2011: As many of you can see, I have changed my name to Yellowbird01. I was thinking about some changes that need to be done in my life and the first I thought of was my user name. By way of history: Yellowbird is a nickname my husband called me when we were dating and I loved it . . it felt so springlike or refreshing. I believe it's time for a refreshing change in my life, so I thought the new name would be a good place to start.
1-17-2010: I recently read the Wilma Rudolph story on the Motivational page and her comment really struck a cord with me, “The triumph can’t be had without the struggle. And I know what struggle is.” I know we all struggle with something in our lives, some more so than others, but you can overcome each struggle one day or step at a time. That is what I am doing . . One step at a time . . I will overcome my weight problem. I have the Lord on my side as well and He gives me the strength I need!
12/27/2009 update: Okay, so 2009 was not the best it could have been, but it was not as bad as it could have been either. I lost and gained the same 6 pounds all year long, but at least I didn't gain more! I have been doing some thinking lately and reading a lot of your blogs and posts, they have gotten me thinking even more. I just have to make some small goals throughout theyear and reward myself for them and in doing the small goals I will reach my ultimate goal. So I will post my small goals and rewards in the next couple of days and the ultimate goal is to be healthier and more active.
from 2009: Hi, I am 40+ and married to the most wonderful man in the world. Both my husband and I have a goal: we would like to get healthy and lose weight in the process. My husband recently had hip surgery and does not want to have another one anytime soon. So we are both trying to get healthier and stay active.
I have had trouble with weight most of my life. I am fairly healthy. I do need to lose some weight. I want to get healthy, so my husband and I can enjoy our "Golden Years" and retirement.
I decided this year is going to be my time to get healthy and lose weight. I am just taking it one day at a time and keep moving forward. I know I will have "set backs" but I have to take the bad along with the good. I know I can do this! and I am going to do this!
With the Lord's help, I will get healthier and lose weight. This is my year!!
Just a little bit about my "babies" and how each one has touched my heart in a different way.
Ellie: my husband had her when we first started dating.
She was my husband's white English bulldog. She is no longer with us, she was 14 years old and having some health issues. She was a wonderful guard dog! I remember just after my husband and I got married, he worked nights and I worked days. It was a Friday night and Ellie would not calm down. It was going on 10PM and she was pacing the floor and the hair on the back of her neck was standing on end. My husband called me about 10:15 and I told him, he said let her out. So after we got off the phone, I let Ellie out. She ran out the yard and chased about 15 kids from the next door house out of the yard. I don't think they would have done anything, but it was nice to see all these kids run in every direction when this 70 lb white English bulldog came running at them. She was my "angel" while she was here. I still miss her.
Boots: we got him in 2002
My black and white tuxedo cat. My husband got him for me after my other cat left his house. I moved my other cat (Tiger) to my home now the month before we got married. He was an outside cat and used to coming and going as he pleased. For a week, he stayed in the house. My husband worked night shift and Tiger started being bad during the day - he wanted out. I told my husband let him out. So he let him out and he never came back. So my husband got me Boots to replace him. Boots is a great cat! He has his own way of doing things, very independent and likes things his way. We do have a "pet door" for the both of them - SuzieQ and Boots, so they can come and go as they please.
SuzieQ: we got her in 2003
My little YorkiePoo . . she is a blessing!! She came from a broken home. The lady who bought her got her from a pet store and then let her have "run" of her laundry room. She let her do what she wanted, when she wanted. SuzieQ had no discipline. She didn't have any "potty training" or nothing. So when we got her she was 9 months old and had no training. It took me a while to get her house trained, and she has an "accident" every now and then. She had to have surgery on her hip shortly after we got her. Her ligaments were not strong enough and her hip would pop out and then pop back in. Thank the Lord the surgery has helped and it is fine now. I don't know what I would do without my SuzieQ, she is my baby. She makes me smile when I get home, she is glad to see me. She has taught me what unconditional love is.
If you would like to see any of my "babies" they are in my picture album.
1. Keep the Lord in everything.
2. Get and stay active.
3. Eat healthy foods.
4. Live a long, healthy life with my husband.
5. Keep a positive attitude.

April 1, 2011 - to have lost 15 pounds - goal met!! 4/2/11
Time to re-think my program.
1. Water aerobics 2 days a week.
2. Yoga 2 days a week
3. Walk 2 days a week.
4. Ride bike 2 days a week.
My name is Jenn. My husband and I have two "babies" SuzieQ, our Yorkiepoo and Boots, our cat. I have had a weight problem pretty much all my life and I just want to get it under control and be the best I can be. I want to live a long, healthy and happy life with my husband Mike. We would like to retire in 15 - 20 years, Lord willing, and enjoy life and each other. I need to be in better health to do that.
Nothing worth having is ever easy. It takes work, commitment and "want to".
Things I enjoy:
reading my Bible
Quotes that inspires me from Wilma Rudolph: “The triumph can’t be had without the struggle. And I know what struggle is.”
"Your vision will become clear
only when you look into your heart.
Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens."—Carl Jung

May you have…
For every storm a rainbow. For every tear a smile.
For every care a promise. And a blessing in every trial.
For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share.
For every sigh a sweet song, and an answer for every prayer.
Have a wonderful day!

In Memory of Unstoppable Teresa who went to be with our Lord this past week, we celebrate her life this 20th day of September by sharing jokes on our blogs in her honor and by passing on some of her beautiful computer art work and encouraging words to those on our friend list. I pray as we remember Teresa today that we also realize the beautiful gift we have in finding good friends to walk this journey with here on Spark. Our friendship being in the cyber-world does not make it less significant than those closest to our faces. Have a blessed, memorable day that makes you one to remember when eternity calls you home.
✫ .HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012✫
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room,
drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through
the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.
Who you were YESTERDAY,
Who you are TODAY,
Who you become TOMORROW;
They are all a part of a BEAUTIFUL Person!
NEVER FORGET HOW SPECIAL YOU ARE...
Hugs, Teresa – Darlene
