I'm new to spark but am not new to attempting weight loss.
I'm looking forward to meeting new people who are on the same journey.

Keeping at it (update Dec 16/08) -

Although I've been absent from SP recently I have managed to keep my weight stable. I've become very lax about my exercise and stretching so my new start with that will bring me back to feeling as good as I know I do when I keep at it (from previous efforts). I'm still happy to continue to lose ...

I've become very lax about my exercise and stretching so my new start with that will bring me back to feeling as good as I know I do when I keep at it (from previous efforts). I'm still happy to continue to lose the weight that naturally comes along with the regular activity and make it to my goal before I turn 50 (Nov 19/09)

One year update-

I've been with SP for just over a year. I've lost 35 lbs during that year. This last month or so has found me off program and adding back a few pounds but I'm still thrilled with a 35lb loss! I started out my fitness with walking and began to add stretching. I've tried to add strength training but haven't had success with that routine (I am still trying). I recently began to walk up stairs that are located in the lower city and bring to the top of the Niagara Escarpment (Hamilton Mountain for locals). It's definitely a workout. I will go down and back up as my breathing gets better. I recently returned to being a non-smoker (started up June 07 after a quit of over 3 years).

I'm thrilled to be an active part of SP and look forward to continuing on my journey to a healthier me!

My Program:
I started out just watching what I was eating (being sure to track each day) and increasing my activity level. Now I'm working on getting the right amount of nutrients and adding strength training to my weekly activity.

I've learned the importance of water and fiber as part of my healthier lifestyle.

I am active 4-5 days per week with walking, gardening or bike riding. If you are local and are interesting in joining me on my activities send me a spark mail, I'd love to find a SP buddy!

Have you started SP again? I thought you said you did, but there's no blog as far as I can see. Not that I have blogged until today, but have been faithfully tracking this week. Keep up the good work, you've been such an encouragement to me!
