My hectic life has gotten in the way of focusing on good health. No more letting excuses rein, time to improve my life and my families life through better health and nutrition.

I'm focused on whole-food, natural living methods of living. My hectic life has gotten in the way of focusing on good health. No more letting excuses rein, time to improve my life and my families life through better health and nutrition.

I'm focused on whole-food, natural living methods of living. I'm working hard to resist the urge to try some 'fad' diet plan just for fast results and instead want to make broad improvements in our life that will last a life time instead of a few months. [Update 08/2011: I've crossed over into a "fad" diet though from doing 6 months of research and deciding that this fad is right for me. It'll help address recent food intolerance results I received and help me lead a healthier and happier life. ]

Update goals include eliminating all processed foods, eating all meals at home/from home, eliminate grains and sugars from my diet as much as possible (without being militant), and consume healthy whole foods including veggies, fruits, meats, fats, etc.

Fitness wise, I'm looking to add walking to my weekly routine with a few other exercises added in as appropriate. I will probably follow the Primal Blueprint method of exercise but starting off slowly and trying to just focus on changing food choices.

I'm a mother of three wonderful girls, married to a fabulous partner, running two small work-from-home businesses, and also work part time.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Your encouragement makes me even more determined to eat healthy and exercise. Yesterday was a good day for me, and I stuck with my planned calories. I had a cup of decaf coffee in the evening and didn't get the evening munchies. I am adding you as a friend. You can add me back!

Thanks! The carrot cake was divine! Probably twice as huge a slice as I needed! haha! emoticon I'm not sure if I've had the "entitled" feeling towards sweets that you're describing, but I definitely struggle with them emoticon I still use sweets and a spoon to chill out when I'm stressed, feeling emotional, or whatever. BUT I realize that my emotional eating is something I'll always struggle with, so I always try to be viligant with my emotional state and I combat it with other ways to mellow out and vigorous exercise! emoticon

I downloaded the book via the Kindle app on my phone. It is pretty common I think. So far very enlightening and just what i need right now since I am completely burned out of dieting and trying to make my body into what it is not.

What amounts of ginger do you use, and how does it taste?

I have been taking it in capsule, but I think it would be even better in dishes.
