I am a blessing, not a curse.
From the song lyrics of Born Free by Kid Rock: (I am) fierce through the rain and lightening, (I am) free like a river raging, (I am) Strong like the wind I'm facing, (I am) Deep like the grandest canyon, (I am) wild like an untamed stallion, (I am) calm (when) facing danger, (I am) an unknown stranger, (I am) grateful for my time with no regrets. I will celebrate God's grace on me.
I emancipated from my past and those who tried to squelch me. I define myself. I am fierce, strong, deep, untamed, calm, unknown and blessed from God's grace.
I deserve to be cherished. I deserve to be comfortable in my own skin. I deserve to have my needs met. When love can flow in unobstructed, it flows out enriched and better able to bless others.
Kid Rock is not my normal music choice. But he filmed his "Born Free" video right here in my hometown. I get to live in such a beautiful place. I am also born free myself this year, having redefined my childhood more accurately. My self identity is being rewritten and who is welcomed in my life has drastically shifted to a healthier place.

"Keep the faith! Don't despair when symptoms return, be they emotional or physical. The road to recovery can have its bumps, but with persistence we can overcome. When progress seems slow or things seem to be going backwards, forge on. It is simply part of the process." Sophia Cayer
