Hello everyone! I am here to lose weight and get fit. I gained 96 pounds in a span of a few months. I'm disgusted with myself and desperately need to lose weight. My knee is hurting from carrying around all this extra weight.

The weight gain is a long story, but basically, I had vertical banding surgery to lose weight over 20 years ago. I originally lost 130 pounds, but two years ago, I was throwing up and could not even keep water down. My doctor did an endoscopy and a balloon dilatation and obviously broke my band but never bothered to tell me. WIthin two months I gained 50 pounds. The next few I gained a total of 46, for a total weight gain of 96 pounds. I've been trying and trying to lose weight, but to no avail.

I'm back at it again. Please pray for me.

I have a current goal of 90 pounds to lose, however, if I make it to that goal, I'll start another one to lose even more.

Thank you SparkPeople for such a great and free service!

My Goals:
I am here to lose weight. I would like to be healthy and I want to start back walking again. Kind of hard to do since my knee hurts after this last weight gain. But I am going to try my best.

My Program:
I am using the Nutrition Tracker on SparkPeople to keep track of my calories, fat, carbs, and protein. This is SO helpful to me, I am glad it is available. I am also going to get off my butt and start exercising.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Connecticut and have been living in various parts of Florida for the past 20 plus years. We have lived in Key West, Pensacola, Jacksonville, and now the Panama City area of Florida. My husband is retired Navy. I own my own biker leather and helmets business.

Other Information:
I owe all I have and all I am to the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him, I'd have nothing. Do you know Jesus? If not, feel free to ask and I'll do the best I can to answer. God bless and keep us all.

Hello everyone! If you have a history similar to mine, please let me know how you have handled this.

I had a stomach stapling operation back in the 1980's when it was a very painful procedure before they started being able to do this with lasers, etc. I never got all the way skinny, but I was thankful to have lost over a hundred pounds.

Over the past 20 years since my stomach surgery, if I hate to much, I had to "get rid of it". Not the same as bulimia. This was more like "your cup runneth over". This helped me keep my weight down for 20 years.

In June of 2008, I could not even keep water down. I went to my gastroenterologist and he did an endoscopy. He said that my stomach had swollen in the area that food went down and he had to put a balloon in to stretch the area back out so I could eat and drink again.

That was the WORST thing that could have been done. It was then like I never had my stomach stapling operation and for the first time in 20 years I could eat like normal people. Before I knew it, I was eating whole Subway sandwiches, hamburgers, and other things I had not been able to eat in years. Also, before I knew it, within 2 months I had gained 50 pounds. I have now added another 20 on top of that for a total of 70 extra pounds within the past 6 months.

My doctor said my stomach would go back down but still has not happened.

I am desperate to lose weight. My knee has been really hurting with this huge weight gain.

I appreciate any advice. I would love to hear from others with a similar experience and how they handled this.

Thank you and God bless!!
