Where did this extra 20 come from?!

Hi! I am a 32 year old wife, teacher and mother of a three-year-old little girl. We live in a little town, nestled at the base of a beautiful West Virginia mountain. After a summer of being lazy and a pregnancy that ended in the 10th week, I weigh 17 lbs more than I did last spring. I used to be bigger in my early 20s, weighing in at 210lbs. Something clicked one day and I slowly became a fitness queen and lost 85 lbs. Having a baby and hitting 30 makes it more difficult to keep weight ...

After a summer of being lazy and a pregnancy that ended in the 10th week, I weigh 17 lbs more than I did last spring. I used to be bigger in my early 20s, weighing in at 210lbs. Something clicked one day and I slowly became a fitness queen and lost 85 lbs. Having a baby and hitting 30 makes it more difficult to keep weight off. I am in good cardiovascular shape. I still teach a mean spin class but I really need to fine tune my diet and increase my activity and lose 20lbs before I try to get pregnant again. I know I can do it! I've used sparkpeople before so I know it can help me.

My Goals:
February Goals:
Lose 5 lbs.
15 Weight Workouts
20 Cardio Sessions
Run 30 miles

Long Term Goals:
Lose 20 lbs by May 1st
Compete in a 5 miler at the end of April.

My Program:
I will teach 3 spin classes a week. Two are 30 minute classes at 5:30 am and one is a 45 minutes spin/ab combo class on Tuesday nights. Four mornings a week, I will lift weights which really helps me to lose weight. At least one other day of the week, ideally two, I will run.

I wish you all the best! And yes, I'm doing very well over here. April 7th will be my ONE YEAR weight loss anniversary and I'll be 30+ pounds lost!!!! I hope to be able to maintain a 25 pound loss long term though... I'm currently training to compete in my FIRST fitness competition! April 25th is the date! 7 weeks to go! I'm totally ready to PEAK!!! It's a long haul though: tonnes of time in the gym, dieting like a freak!!! But getting myself on that stage, looking like a fitness competitor will make it ALL WORTH IT!

Hi :) Your daughter is a cutie!
I have a question for ya...I had posted a message on one of the boards regarding Tae-bo amped. You said that you used to teach cardio kick? Did you do any kind of strength training along with that ? What I'm most concerned about is losing the "rolls" in my stomach and extra "junk" in my thighs and butt...I'm not sure if the amped is going to fix these problems or not...I'm not overweight I just want to get it tightened up.

I read your blog and it reminded me so much of myself. I have a little boy that will be 2 in April. I am 20-25 lbs. heavier than I was before motherhood. I really want to take this weight off before we try to get pregnant again this summer. I will be 33 in August and just don't feel as "youthful" as I did; even 2.5 years ago. ):
I have been doing cardio at least 3 times a week and strength training twice a week.
I use to do a spinning class every Thursday morning (LOVED IT) but since my husband moved to working earlier mornings; that would an end to that.

I look forward to going through this weight loss journey!
