Two years ago, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I immediately committed to losing 67 pounds and getting my BMI under 25.

In 2012 I dropped 50 pounds and maintained that loss for a year. But my work is not done because the weight is slowly returning. My mini goal for 2014 is to lose 10% of my body weight by July. It's a bumpy, challenging road filled with setbacks, struggles and detours, but with the support of Sparkpeople, I'll find a way to make it happen.

My Goals:
1) Read something daily to stay motivated and keep a positive attitude;

2) Call a friend or do routine housework when I'm stressed;

3) Stay focused on eating right and getting the proper exercise;

4) Get 8-9 hours of sleep.

My Program:
Cardio 4x a week for 30-45 minutes.

Eat a plant-based diet. Reduce intake of white bread, white rice, potatoes, refined white flour and sugar. Consume lean meats.

Other Information:
The only time you mustn't fail is the last time you try.

I'm not so sure why 5 pounds seems like a mole hill but dang I've lost 8 and a half just by reigning in my eating and exercising at least three times a week! I do the wii fit religiously 14 minutes gets me a half a pound peeled off my body. I'm no longer in 3 x shirts! I can now proudly say I wear size 24 w and 2 x tops! I'm in an outfit I cheated to get. I bought it when it barely fit me and now I'm sitting here typing away feeling completely and totally utterly SEXAY! I never dreamed I'd be sitting in this outfit comfortably today...I bought the jeans when they were uncomfortable to wear and now they fit without riding on me!!!!!!I'm so thrilled that my doc got me on meds that do not effect my weight whatso ever! who would have thought I was on medication that was keeping me from loosing weight! I wouldn't have until now......good luck in this weight loss journey together I'm with you on this journey too! emoticon emoticon
