Thirty-something. Army wife. First-time mom. Stay-at-home mom. Writer. Goofy. Obese. That last one is a word I wish I couldn't use to describe myself. But I am. The silver lining? My baby is under a year old, so people give me a bit of a pass. The nightmare? I only gained 11 pounds during pregnancy, and those are long gone. The truth is, I've been skating by on excuses, and it's time to stop. (Written July 2009)

HOW EXCITING! I'm thinking that you still can write, even if you aren't watching the pounds melt away emoticon

I started the 5K Your Way program three weeks ago and so far I've made it through all the sessions. I'm trying a 5K fitness walk as part of the Iowa Games tomorrow. (Only because it's free, well and to see what happens.)
