Why I'm here

Hi!
I'm Steven, a 63 year-old RETIRED High School teacher. I have a son and daughter and another daughter. My youngest daughter heavily involved in raising my two granddaughters.

I started a weight-loss program with a starting weight of 233...current weight 235+.

I'm good at visualization: I can see myself looking like I want to look. I do work towards the vision...then, CRAP, I for no apparent reason begin to undo what I 'just done'. I know that ...

I know that somewhere inside of me - there's a better Me.

Right now I'm doing one thing I've always wanted to do: WRITE. I've always been a fan of the 'What if -' genre of historical fiction. Also I read a Lot of 'Who done it?' mysteries. So I'm writing short stories and flash fiction in both those genre's. Most are posted on my author's blog.
So far I'm unpublished, but, I am proud of my small collection of rejection slips from publishers. At least they know I'm here.

One of the rewards of getting older is you can slow down. Sometimes its at your chosen pace, other times your body makes those choices. That's me.

I'm still looking for that 'higher power'. I'll look over behind the sofa.

Hi WRITEMANN, you asked me where the photo was taken on my page. It was near Mt Assiniboine, lesser of the great scenery there. Taken a few years ago. You're from SW Missouri, my parents are from that rough area - almost 50 years ago though!

Persist

The only way to fail is to give up. Whatever comes, whatever happens, keep going.

Fix your eyes on the goal, and persist. Your vision, your commitment, and your actions will take you there.

When you can make great big strides, make them. When you can take only small steps, take them.

See every moment as the opportunity that it is. When the wind is at your back, keep going, and when the wind is blowing against you, keep going.

Make good and effective use of whatever you encounter. Tap into the positive value that is always there.

Know precisely where you wish to go and why. Keep going, and you are there.
