FIGHTING FATIGUE

Recently, I have been having problems with my energy levels. I don't have energy to do things anymore like workout and go walking. On my 4 days off I usually stay home all day and sleep. I drink way too much caffeine, coffee and sodas. I know I need to change my dietary habits that is why I am here for advice.

Ben

UPDATE: My energy levels have substantially improved in the last few months. I'm not as tired as I have been. 2/18/12

Hi there Mr. Quiet, thanks for the friend add. I have you added in return. Good to see you are rocking the "Kinect to Spark" group as well. Have you seen some of our challenges, etc?

I see your posts about energy levels. That is one of those things that can be caused by any number of things. Amount of sleep, diet, stress, medication, etc. Once you hit that caffeine, you go into that cycle where you need more and more to keep you going.

For me, it got to the point where I was taking a couple of 5 hour energy drinks a day, and then a little bit of coffee and soda in between. It helped, but then I dropped dead...literally. I'm not saying all that contributed to my cardiac arrest, but I've been careful since then.

Going back to your tired situation, I would take a serious look at the four main things: sleep, diet, stress, and medication. I would say exercise too, but it seems like you were exercising already when you started feeling a lack of energy. The only other thing that comes to mind is sleep apnea.

Keep in touch, I would love to know how you are progressing.
