Single again 49 yr old Mom of two grown kids and I've just recently moved in with my parents, in the house I grew up in, to help care for my Mom, who has Parkinsons a debilitating back problems. I can not describe how difficult is was to give up my home and come here. And its a daily struggle in a mostly negative atmosphere. I hope, by using sparkpeople, to nurture my own health and mind,so that I can do a better job , and be nicer about, caregiving to others. ( its very difficult at 49 to be questioned by a parent as if you were still a kid, irritating). Some of my goals here on SparkPeople are to : lose the 40 pounds or more I need to lose, reclaim my stomach after a hysterectomy over a year ago, and fill up my arsenal with positive energy to combat this negatively charged atmosphere I live in, (instead of eating out of frustration) and get strong muscles and endurance not only for today but for what my future holds. I hope along the way I can meet and inspire others in their goals also.
I'm 49. I want to lose 40 lbs., tone,tone,tone, increase endurance and gain more evergy.
I am just starting and am a bit confused about which direction to go. Thats why I am on Spark.
My biggest challenge is living with my parents and being able to eat "my" foods and also scheduling time around them for workouts etc.
I live in south Alabama.
I love to read and I love movies.

You Go Girl, 40 pounds may seem like a lot but think about this....every time 1 pound comes off hold a pound of butter in your hands and think That Was On You! It's Impressive, we underestimate the loss of 1 pound. Knock them off 1 at a time and Tone it up!

Boy, you do have a lot on your plate right now.
Just take it slow. For the weight, pick just 1, 2 or 3 items
to focus on until they become a habit. When I first started
Spark, I joined a dozen teams, set 20 daily goals and
DIDN'T DO ANY OF THEM!
After several start-overs, finally go it. Picked 6 glasses of water
and 5 minutes of exercise daily. After a couple of weeks, upped.
We are re-learning a lifetime of bad habits. Slow is ok.
