I'm so grateful for SparkPeople! I started (again) at 280 in April, 2013, determined to lose at least 100 pounds. I've lost 30+ so far, from my highest weight in January, 2013, of 288. Now I am headed to losing 100 more.

I'm losing 'from the inside out" -- getting healthy in body, mind, and spirit, with the love and encouragement from so many Sparkfriends in this wonderful community. This, I know, is what I need for long term stable weight loss.

If I can you do it -- so can you. I've been though major life changes here, and I keep learning to love myself, treat myself well, and thus eat better and move my body.

My Goals:
Daily:
Drink 10 glasses of water.
Morning Prayer
Yoga Basics
Enjoy Eating

Weekly
Class/strength training 3x week
Yoga Practice
Daily walking/activity at least 10 minutes.

What I would like: to weigh 230 or less by Thanksgiving.

Grand Goal: Weigh 150 and be active, healthy, and and to live well in my body.




My Program:
My Rule of Life is my foundation - Mass, praying the Office, Service, Prayer.
Sparkcoach is great and gives me the structure the structure I need.

I am Whole Foods Plant Based since April 2014 and LOVING THIS.

I am beginning to get fit now in July 2014. This is a decision to live in my body. I am also doing some 1:1 yoga, which is great.

Personal Information:
I'm from northwest Illinois and have two adult sons. Chris and Jack, pictured top left, share my home. Working full time, in a job that allows me to be flexible and creative.

Other Information:
My new priority is to take care of myself like I have not yet done in my life.

I would have slapped her! How condescending! But what do you expect when 99.9999% of the people she sees older than her take at least 4 RX's?

What would happen to all these people if for some odd reason they had to pay for their drugs? They'd stop taking them!! And, they'd start feeling better as a matter of fact.

Do you remember Hurricane Katrina which hit Florida I think in the early '90's? I was working for a medical insurance company processing claims when it struck. Our home office was there and didn't have too much damage. What I remember from this event was how the Pharma companies rushed in to "help the poor people" who's meds were lost in the storm with free RX's during the crisis. GIVE ME A FLIPPIN' BREAK!! They were making certain their addicts stayed addicted.

We had the same - too much winter, not enough spring, and right into summer. I hate the gnats too. Very irritating!!
