I've Got Everything to Lose...

This is my second time on Spark People, and about the millionth time that I have said I am going to get motivated and lose weight. The millionth and first time IS going to work.

I want to lose weight because I want to feel better about myself and feel better physically. I used to be very social and comfortable around people, but I have lost confidence in myself. I want to feel good about me again, and I want to feel good participating in activities. It sounds silly, but I want to wear cute clothes and look good in pictures. I live at the beach, so there is the dreaded bathing suit season. I want this year to be different.

My Goals:
This year, I want to focus on overall well-being, and not just losing weight. I came up with some different goals for several aspects of my life.

PHYSICAL:
Start and STICK WITH a workout program.
Eat more healthy foods and less junk.
Tell better care of myself all around.

PROFESSIONAL:
Meet all of my monthly goals
Get a promotion by April 2010

FINANCIAL:
Stick to my budget
Save $1000 by the end of the year

SPIRITUAL:
Find a church to attend, at least once a month
Read the Bible daily.

EMOTIONAL:
Keep a journal (at least weekly)
Try to implement yoga & meditation into my daily life

SOCIAL:
Do something fun with friends at least once a week


My Program:
The most important part of the program will be tracking what I eat, how many calories I take in, and how many I work out.

For starters, I will be doing the workouts from South Beach Supercharged! I will also do yoga DVDs (or classes) on days when only cardio is scheduled.

Personal Information:
I'm 27 and I live at the beach in Charleston, SC. I work for a software company. I love watching football, especially NC State and the San Diego Chargers.

Other Information:
The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.
