January 9, 2013 - I discovered after much ponderance last year that I am an emotional eater (not the negative emotions, but the happy ones). Horray, it's Friday.! Horray, you got a raise! Horray, it's your Birthday, Horray, let's just go out and eat! So it is no surprise to me when I say Horray it was HALLOWEEN, THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, NEW YEARS, MY BIRTHDAY & GRAND-DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY all wrapped up in one huge celebration. I popped up to 208.6. Horray, it's your Birthday, Horray, let's just go out and eat! So it is no surprise to me when I say Horray it was HALLOWEEN, THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, NEW YEARS, MY BIRTHDAY & GRAND-DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY all wrapped up in one huge celebration. I popped up to 208.6. I decided to do something different this time though. With the help of my SparkBuddy who does make me think. . .what if I put everything in my tracker first that I would like to eat for the day and then either stick to it or modify it throughout the day making sure to stay within the calorie range. O.K. so let me show you the progress so far:
January 2 - 208.6
January 4 - 207.4
January 5 - 206.8
January 6 - 204.0
January 7 - 203.0
January 8 - 202.2 (I ate lunch at McDonalds & edited my Spark nutrition page for dinner and snack time to make my calories work. I also only ate 75% of what i ordered and offered up the rest to whoever grabs it from the fridge. Not me!)
January 9 - 200.4
I have also been exercising on a regular basis and doing my water intake.
Having a SparkBuddy helps a lot too. They make you think - but they become your friend as well.
September 26, 2012 - I weigh 197.4 I follow the guidelines I learned in "Food Lovers" but I'm here to be inspired and to not be shy this time. I came for the motivation factor.
September 2012 - I weighed 199 pounds but was still unmotivated. Then a visitor stopped by. . .SUSIEMT has been a part of SparkPeople forever! She happens to be my Aunt. I think perhaps the reason they call this SparkPeople is because it only takes a little Spark to ignite motivation sometimes. SUSIEMT has lost over a 100 lbs and kept it off. The one thing she said that made perfect sense was. . ."I've been trying to lose weight unsuccessfully for years. I saw this site, read and believed what they said. Because they are the experts, they know how it is done."
June 2012 - I weighed 204 pounds, but had stopped exercising and eating right. I lost my motivation.
April 2011 - I caught a cold that lasted a month. One Sunday with my Puffs box beside me I saw a commercial that would change how I both felt and ate. I bought the "Food Lovers Fat Loss System". I weighed 249 pounds - the cold kicked 10 pounds off of me.
March 2011 - I weighed in at 259 pounds. Suffered from GERD, felt like a slug and discovered I had high blood pressure.
Aug 2008 - I joined SparkPeople but was really too shy to get involved in conversation. I really wasn't ready yet to take the huge step. I weighed 252 pounds.
