Losing weight is like quitting smoking...
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! I have finally quite smoking (3/5/08 was one year....yippee!) BUT my weight has paid the price so now I need to focus on that...AGAIN! Welcome to the page of a 45 year old mom with two kids and two step kids ranging in age from 7 to 19. I've struggled with my weight since my mid 20's. More than once, losing 30#s only to gain 45#s back...that's SO unfair! Well, this year (or was it last) I hit 200 for the first time. Boy, was I ...
Boy, was I SHOCKED. I NEVER thought it was possible. And then, in some way, I became fascinated with the fact that my body could actually hold 200#s. Well, needless to say, I'm not fascinated any more. This weight loss is going to be permanent. SP has been great to reiterate to me, what I've always known, there's no miracle pill or diet. It's healthy changes for life. I need to learn to work through the plateaus. That's usually when I give up. But not this time...I'm going to do it! Update 4/11/08 I just realized it's one year since I joined SP. OK, so MAYBE I haven't been as focused as I should have been. Sometimes I feel I've wasted a whole year. I weigh more NOW than I did last year! BUT I'm going to go again, and again until I lose weight and get healthy again!

My Goals:
Ultimate weight goal right now is 145. I may rethink it when I'm there. Primarily I want to feel good and look good. I don't want to struggle maintaining. It's been so many years since I've been in my healthy weight range, I don't know where my body wants to be! Overall I want to be/feel healthier, have more energy and lead a more active life with my kids!
My Program:
Track calories and eat in 1200-1550 range Work out Cardio 30mins 4 days/wk 3 strength training/week Additional fun and active activity on the weekend
Other Information:
Love Biggest Loser. I know they lose too much to fast, but it's great to see how bodies and health profiles CAN change. It's so motivating to see someone who has trouble walking up stairs end up running for miles!
