Plan. Prepare. Follow Through.

These are the words I need to live by in order to reach my goals.

I will be walking the Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K on April 11, 2015 with my sister for the second time. My first one was in April 2014. Goal met: We did not finish dead last. No one got hurt.

My Goals:
Taking it a "Decade at a time"...currently in the 40s (240s that is)

My Program:
Average daily calorie range of 1200 - 1800.

10+ minutes of activity per day.

8+ glasses of water

Personal Information:
I am 57 years old and have been struggling with my weight ALL my life. Sadly, when I was younger I thought I was fat when really, I was healthy. Had I not had such a skewed body image then, I do not believe I would have become so obsessed with weight and food and ended up where I am today. In the 70s as a teenager, I hated my GINORMOUS hips. They were 37 inches and I was 5 feet 7 inches tall. Hah! Youth is so wasted on the young.

"Vegetarian Wannabe" - sometimes I give in to bacon (sigh) and I do eat fish

Loves animals - especially rabbits

Beatles fan and all classic rock and roll

Wanted desperately to go to Woodstock, but was only 12 years old at the time

loves the colors turquoise and aqua - the color of the Caribbean

you can never have TOO many Christmas lights

loves to dream about flying

Thank you for the Spark Goodie and the kind words on my recent blog...it really means a lot to know that people care. Although I have a bunch of Spark friends, you are someone I feel I can call a true, real friend even though we have never met face to face.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing the same cold that we're having here. It's terrible. Try to stay warm!

Hi Connie...nope, no diet soda and very little regular soda (maybe one glass every three months, if that). Not a soda fan. The cleanse thing is going well, ate some other stuff in addition to the soup but it was all healthy and no sugar...Day one has been a success so far!
Hope you are doing well!

Thank you for the kind words on my blog. Reading your page I see that you have another 5K in your plan. These are so motivating.

You are smart to postpone running until you lose more weight. A friend once told me that "I've run at 175 and 125. Guess which is easier"

Every pound you lose is 4 to 10 pounds less pressure on your knees. Walk for now, stick to the program and eventually you may decide to try running. The key is to avoid injury and enjoy the journey.

It doesn't matter how long the journey takes, just keep headed in the right direction.

I wanted to go to Woodstock too, but I was 7 months pregnant.
