Plan. Prepare. Follow Through.

These are the words I need to live by in order to reach my goals.

UPDATE: I walked my first 5K with my sister in April 2014. Goal met: We did not finish dead last. No one got hurt. We will do it again next year and will be much lighter on our feet! Someday I hope to be light enough to actually run without hurting my feet.

My Goals:
Taking it a "Decade at a time"...currently in the 40s (240s that is)

My Program:
Average daily calorie range of 1200 - 1800.

10+ minutes of activity per day.

8+ glasses of water

Personal Information:
I am 57 years old and have been struggling with my weight ALL my life. Sadly, when I was younger I thought I was fat when really, I was healthy. Had I not had such a skewed body image then, I do not believe I would have become so obsessed with weight and food and ended up where I am today. In the 70s as a teenager, I hated my GINORMOUS hips. They were 37 inches and I was 5 feet 7 inches tall. Hah! Youth is so wasted on the young.

"Vegetarian Wannabe" - sometimes I give in to bacon (sigh) and I do eat fish

Loves animals - especially rabbits

Beatles fan and all classic rock and roll

Wanted desperately to go to Woodstock, but was only 12 years old at the time

loves the colors turquoise and aqua - the color of the Caribbean

you can never have TOO many Christmas lights

loves to dream about flying

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards;
they try to have more things, or more money,
in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.
The way it actually works is the reverse.
You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do,
in order to have what you want.

That made me laugh out LOUD!!! And I sure do appreciate the compliment :) I actually LOVE that song & it's the first song that I used to play on repeat for little Tyler b/c he loved it too!!! Fortunately he didn't understand the words - but it is definitely a great feel good song!!! Even now if I pull out my phone and start playing it he'll look at me and start to move & soon we're dancing together. Love it!

You are so right when you say when your DH is mad at himself he'll pick on you - that's exactly what I get! Mine is (currently) mad that he can't quit smoking yet he's waiting for his doctor to come up with a plan...rather than putting in the effort himself! But when he does try....look out world, let's all suffer along with him! When I quit it was the hardest thing I ever did but I wanted to stop more than continue so I made the effort day by day, sometimes hour by hour. He wants a quick fix and it's my fault that one doesn't exist. Grrrrrrr!

Just stopping by to say hi and wish you luck in the challenge. Hope you are enjoying your recumbent bike! I am also dying for spring. I am a biker and can't wait to get back outside again.
