I had spinal fusion surgery in March, 2011. I did well with my recovery and got down to my lowest in years...156lbs. However, whatever I want to blame...depression, work, myself, life...I gained nearly 30+ pounds by the end of that year!!

Knowing that my surgeon told me, "If you get down to a healthy weight goal...you could wake up one day--completely pain free."

While my pain is nowhere near as bad as it was before the surgery ...

While my pain is nowhere near as bad as it was before the surgery (or, during the recovery from surgery), I still have pain. I want to be pain free--what a wonderful opportunity I have. So...here I go...

The title of my SparkPage is challenge of sorts--to myself! I have TRIED to change my eating habits; TRIED to get into an exercise routine; TRIED to make the necessary strides to improve my health and get back to a healthy weight! Well, trying has gotten my nowhere!!

As I get reaquainted with you all, and some of the new stuff here, I will DO what it takes to get to my goals!! I didn't starte well today...but, I will go shopping tonight and get all the goodies I need to make better choices for my meals this week!!

Personal Information:
Originally from Indiana--I moved to Houston over 20 years ago.
-I work for a non-profit Christinan agency--since 1992.
-I belong to Faith Family Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX (for 5 years now).
-I am learning American Sign Language.

I am single (never married), and own three cats (or do they own me?). I pray for the day I get married and have children of my own!

-I am losing this weight to feel healthy and be able to do missions work and raise my children without feeling tired, sick, or overwhelmed.

Other Information:
I enjoy reading the Bible.

I enjoy magazines and other Christian reading material.

I love crafting and am beginning to love working out!

I belong to 24Hour Fitness Gym and Anytime Fitness.

I have a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness.

Pickleball is sort of like tennis for old people! haha. You use a whiffle ball and what looks more like a ping pong paddle; a lower net and smaller court. The rules are sort of like tennis and sort of like volleyball. It's great exercise and fun meeting new people.
