Updated October 1, 2012! I had spinal fusion surgery in March, 2011. I did well with my recovery and got down to my lowest in years...156lbs. However, whatever I want to blame...depression, work, myself, life...I gained nearly 30+ pounds by the end of that year!! Knowing that my surgeon told me, "If you get down to a healthy weight goal...you could wake up one day--completely pain free." While my pain is nowhere near as bad as it was before the surgery ...

Knowing that my surgeon told me, "If you get down to a healthy weight goal...you could wake up one day--completely pain free." While my pain is nowhere near as bad as it was before the surgery (or, during the recovery from surgery), I still have pain. I want to be pain free--what a wonderful opportunity I have. So...here I go... The title of my SparkPage is challenge of sorts--to myself! I have TRIED to change my eating habits; TRIED to get into an exercise routine; TRIED to make the necessary strides to improve my health and get back to a healthy weight! Well, trying has gotten my nowhere!! As I get reaquainted with you all, and some of the new stuff here, I will DO what it takes to get to my goals!! I didn't starte well today...but, I will go shopping tonight and get all the goodies I need to make better choices for my meals this week!! Hope to see you all around here...in the days, weeks and months to come!!

My Goals:
Get to weigh goal by 4/8/2013. Trainer 2x/week. Gym at least 5x week. Eat within calorie range at least 5 days a week.

Updated: 10/1/12 Visit gym/trainer. Do Walk-Away-the-Pounds routine at least once each week. Visit WW meeting once a month to weigh in.
Personal Information:
Originally from Indiana--I moved to Houston over 20 years ago. -I work for a non-profit Christinan agency--since 1992. -I belong to Faith Family Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX (for 5 years now). -I am learning American Sign Language. I am single (never married), and own three cats (or do they own me?). I pray for the day I get married and have children of my own! -I am losing this weight to feel healthy and be able to do missions work and raise my children without feeling tired, sick, or overwhelmed.
Other Information:
I enjoy reading the Bible. I enjoy magazines and other Christian reading material. I love crafting and am beginning to love working out! I belong to 24Hour Fitness Gym and Anytime Fitness. I have a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness.
