It's now 2014 so I guess it's time for an update since I'm renewing my weight loss journey after becoming one of "those" people... you know, the ones that drop a bunch of weight and then over time gain it back.

I lost 50 pounds in 2011 by eating healthy foods and working out at the gym. By the end of 2013 I had gained back all but 10 pounds though. Several things lead to the gain... health issues, family health issues, stress, major changes at work, and a whole lot of excuses. I am an emotional eater... I eat when I'm happy or sad or mad or stressed. I also have a tendency to get lazy... because I tend to forget how much better I feel when I'm exercising regularly.

In 2014, I hope to find a better way to deal with stress, etc. so I can lose the weight and keep it off this time!

~Winnie

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves - who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous? But honestly, who are you to not be so?

~Marianne Williamson

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

My dad's cousin bought a snowblower about 12 years ago, never used it once, spent about 10 years trying to sell it. Of course, now that she finally sold it, we have lots of snow! Too funny. Enjoy the new toy when you do get snow though. I think we are going to buy a plow for the ATV. At least we could get the driveway with that and not have as much ice as we do now. Our driveway is shaded by the neighbors hedge-makes for a disaster when we get weather. It won't melt, and it just turns into a big ice block!

Mine always tracks cals and steps and no activity unless I walk or jog or something for 30 consecutive min. The cals seem about right to me, they count you cals for active or inactive min. So, even just the cals you burn breathing get counted for the day. If you wear it for major activity I would think you would see a big burn. My does sync with Spark. I've only been out of bed for 30 min, walked thru the house to let the dog out and got a cup of coffee and I've burned over 600 cals. Literally, I've done nothing this morning. I think it is pretty well on though-I have the surge and the one and they both track exactly the same and I had another cal. counter when I bought my one and they measured the same too. Hope that helps you.
Hope your Christmas was merry and bright.
