I am a 24-year-old recent college graduate in Illinois. What started out as "I just want to lose a few pounds" ended up turning into "how physically fit can I get?" I discovered a newfound love for running in December 2007, and since then have dedicated 2008 to (the beginning of) being physically fit. This is my journey.

What's MY story, you wonder? Interestingly enough, I've never been over 140lbs for my 5'4 frame. It's not in the overweight category, but I definitely was not happy and I knew that if I didn't do something about it, I would soon become overweight. Like a lot of people, I put on weight in college. Eating dorm food, erratic sleep schedules, and busy days all contributed to weight gain. However, here I am, finished with college, and READY TO START MY LIFE!

I'm one that is highly motivated by achievement. What is a more awesome goal than physical fitness? It's perfect -- I can work on it for the rest of my life. SUCH a win-win! The challenge of balancing my lifestyle with my career is even more of a motivator, and I KNOW I can do it.

So, find that part of yourself that wants to be the best you can be, and BE IT! Don't accept anything less -- failure is just failing to get back up. Come on, Sparkers! It's a new day!

I am getting married on June 14th, 2009 to my amazing Jordan! I want to look and feel the best for our wedding and honeymoon!!

My Goals:
Sparkpeople has definitely helped me develop a lifestyle that I plan on maintaining for the rest of my life. In 2009, I plan to race in multiple events and do my FIRST HALF MARATHON (June 7th!)!


My Program:
I consume about 1400 calories per day, and work out 5-6 days per week. I perform 5 days of cardio (running, elliptical, stationary bike), and 3 days of strength training.

I'm 5'4 with a petite body frame!

HW: 140lbs (12/20/07)
CW: 126.7lbs

GW: 120-123lbs


Other Information:
I'm a first-year teacher -- I direct chorus in a middle school and 5th grade orchestra! I'm also getting MARRIED on June 14th, 2009!
