Starting Over

My name is Bill. I regained a lot of weight during the past six months taking care of my wife. Now that my beautiful wife has passed away after a 4-year battle with Amyloidosis, it is time to start taking care of myself. It may be difficult at first because of the grief, but I have to do it!

While I didn't do well with the last 2 challenges, I'm determined to do better on the Summer Challenge. My Goal: I want to drop 11 pounds (5% of my weight) by the end of the challenge. ...

My Goals:
I want to get to 180 lbs by March 2105. While I can't run very much due to tendon damage after a broken leg, I want to get back in the habit of exercising daily.

My Program:
Eat healthy, watch the portion sizes, and exercise frequently. This formula always works, but it's easier said than done! I've got to find a way to make them habits instead of things that I HAVE to do.

Personal Information:
I live in San Antonio, Texas - an absolutely great place! (except perhaps in July and August...)

Other Information:
I grew up in Texas, but spent 26 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, I worked another 15 years at Brooks AFB, TX as a contractor. I love outdoor activities of all types. I'm currently finishing a vacation cabin at some acreage I have near Rocksprings, TX. This was our "get-away" spot where my wife and I could really enjoy nature.

You are really cuising along! I just saw you completed your trip up and down ROAR MOUNTAIN on Halloween! FANTASTIC!

Glad to hear you had so much fun at the ranch - and that you took time to relax! I bet the roast from that wild boar was delicious! Continue to be good to yourself and allow injuries to heal properly!

Good morning. Just stopping by to share a Chinese Proverb with you:

“Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.”

Have a Fearlessly Terrific Tuesday! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the comments on my Spark Page, Jonnie! I had a great time at the ranch with my son. It was more relaxing than anything because the doctor determined I had minor stress fractures in both feet. I did go hog hunting and got a 75-lb wild boar on the first morning. These boars are taking over the state, and it's going to take a concerted effort to get rid of them. At least they taste really good. I made a nice pork roast there on our last day. Take care!
