Starting Over

My name is Bill. I regained a lot of weight during the past six months taking care of my wife. Now that my beautiful wife has passed away after a 4-year battle with Amyloidosis, it is time to start taking care of myself. It may be difficult at first because of the grief, but I have to do it!

While I didn't do well with the last 2 challenges, I'm determined to do better on the Summer Challenge. My Goal: I want to drop 11 pounds (5% of my weight) by the end of the challenge. ...

My Goals:
I want to get to 180 lbs by March 2105. While I can't run very much due to tendon damage after a broken leg, I want to get back in the habit of exercising daily.

My Program:
Eat healthy, watch the portion sizes, and exercise frequently. This formula always works, but it's easier said than done! I've got to find a way to make them habits instead of things that I HAVE to do.

Personal Information:
I live in San Antonio, Texas - an absolutely great place! (except perhaps in July and August...)

Other Information:
I grew up in Texas, but spent 26 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, I worked another 15 years at Brooks AFB, TX as a contractor. I love outdoor activities of all types. I'm currently finishing a vacation cabin at some acreage I have near Rocksprings, TX. This was our "get-away" spot where my wife and I could really enjoy nature.

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! Thanks for stopping by. I think the worst part of losing my diamond was the fact that technically I am not married, but I just was not ready to take off my ring. I am very thankful that I am able to get it redone for a reasonable price.

Today's quote is by Les Brown:

“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.”

Too many people like to blame someone else for everything so I find this a good quote to remind us that it is us who is responsible for how our life goes. Have a Happy Hump Day and a Wonderful Wednesday making the choices you need to achieve your goals! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today's quote is from an unknown source:

“Just know, when you truly want success, you’ll never give up on it. No matter how bad the situation may get.”

So, I hope you truly want success and are willing to NEVER, EVER give up! Have a Terrific Tuesday! emoticon emoticon

The doing something different and getting away was definitely a good thing as I am sure you remember too. The bummer was that I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring while away so that was a little emotional for me, but not as bad as it could have been. I am getting it reset though for a reasonable price so that helped. We are expecting our temperature to get to 104 today which is quite warm for us this early. Have a fabulous day!

Just dropping by to say emoticon .Today I am sharing a quote by Dr. Seuss:

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. "

What wonderful advice this is. It is too bad it takes most of us so long to figure that out. So, here's wishing you the best day possible being yourself and speaking your mind. emoticon emoticon

hope each day you are creating a new way....towards good health..peace within.
Next Monday is my honey's birthday...he will be 79.
On behalf of your sharing with me....I know where the fishing poles are..
I have plans for the little basket of goodies to eat...packing them up...and taking him away for the day to the Old ditch that we fished at when we first met (o.k. I sat and held the pole...)...it doesn't matter if that ditch is dry...it is the memories of our beginning..and taking time for the important things in life....each other..
To LIFE...and ...FINISHING well!!
