I want to be healthy and like the way I look....even at the beach!

I am no longer 37 as I was when I started! I'm almost 41 and am back where I was weight wise when I was 37. Never did reach my goal weight, but I was on my way. I felt better, was eating better and exercising regularly. I changed my scale today...I was just going to leave it until I got the weight off...but decided to be honest.

Funny how much easier it is to gain weight than lose it. Certainly don't notice a pound here or there when it's being put on, but when it's coming off ...

Never really stopped exercising, but was certainly less consistent...it was the eating that got me. I was certainly not eating as healthy as I had been but I think what really got me was the AMOUNT I was eating...I stopped measuring and tracking....BAD MOVE!

I have accomplished some of my goals: I did 2 sprint triathalons, some 5k's and a 10k. Didn't accomplish others like running a half marathon in 2010.

I think it will be easier this time because I KNOW I can do it. I started measuring and tracking my food again and working on the exercising consistently. It does help that I'm signed up for the WARRIOR DASH in 2 weeks! Guess it's time to re-evaluate and re-write my goals!

My Goals:
Mid-term goals
1) Lose 30 pounds
2) Tone my body
3) Be able to run not just walk - I can run! although I feel like I'm starting over again, I ran a 10k 4/2010 as well as as a 4 or 5 5k's in 09-10.
4) Eat healthier foods

Long-term goals
1)Maintain weight and fitness
2)Complete a small triathalon by the time I'm 40 - I did do 2 sprint tri's in 2009!



My Program:
Right now I'm just eating better (healthier and within calorie limits) and running/walking. Throw in some push ups, jump rope or resistance tube training occassionally. It's time to get serious and put a plan together to get some sort of consistent routine in place. I do plan on starting to train for a half marathon in the next few weeks.

PREVIOUS: I started just doing cardio 2-4 days a week. I then bumped it up to 5-6 days a week a minimum of 30 minutes and added circuit training 2-3 days a week. Along with that I started the nutrition portion eating healthier and staying on the low end of my calorie range most days. I have actually added more cardio sometimes doing cardio 2 times a day.

Personal Information:
Originally from Wisconsin I now live in Florida and need to get a beach body!

I am married with 3 kids, we love camping, boating and 4-wheeling although we don't get to do much lately ...I want to go on the boat or to the beach with my kids and not be self-conscious.

I know exactly what you mean when you mention not tracking what you eat. That was my worst culprit over the past 6 months!!
When I stopped tracking my daily food intake, I did not realize how much I was actually eating and all of the wrong stuff...
Good luck striving toward and meeting your goals :)

There is NO wrong time to start over, even IF it means we start over every single day ! emoticon

Hey Joey - where in Fl do you live...I am in Pinellas county. You can do it...start training for the half now. There are lots out there.
