Beginning again

I have always been the fat kid. For my entire life with the exception of a few times when I either starved or ran myself to death my weight has been a problem. While I remain fairly fit walking 30 minutes a day, riding horseback a few times a week (off now due to broken wrist and winter weather) I still remain in that "obese" stage. Looking at my 50th birthday in just 2 weeks, I have decided to try to make lifestyle changes that will help me to feel good about myself and to become the happy ...

Looking at my 50th birthday in just 2 weeks, I have decided to try to make lifestyle changes that will help me to feel good about myself and to become the happy person I am locked down under the layers of fat. I have plans for riding until I'm in my 80's. I am hoping with the sparks community I can stay motivated to finally get rid of the diet mentality making nutrition and fitness an everyday occurrence in my life. So...after many years of yo-yoing I'll give it another shot. hopefully it will be the journey of a lifetime...a much longer, healthier lifetime.

My Goals:
My biggest goal is being happy and healthy. I don't need to be paper thin.
I would however like to lose weight to feel better both physically and mentally. I want to "STOP DIETING AND START LIVING"

My Program:
I walk 3-6 days a week as weather and schedule permit. Weight train 2 days a week. As weather permits I ride horseback and of course
follow the spark nutrition plan.

Yes it's good to see other horse lovers here. I've missed Spark and I don't know what I'd do without
"My Boyz"! I'm lucky enough to have them at my home so I get to see them everyday. I often sit on my porch (as riding is not an option this summer) and just listen to them chomp away in the pasture. Life is good. Keep in touch! Let me know what type of riding you do, show etc. Happy Riding! emoticon

Thanks all for the Birthday wishes! To celebrate I'm taking a riding lesson to help me try to keep some kind of rider fitness until spring when we can ride on a regular basis! Woo Hoo! At least I'm burning calories instead of packing them on with cake and icecream. LOL emoticon
