Thru Christ who gives me strength

I was a blue/black in martial arts and jiu jitsu on way to my black belt when doing a jump axe kick I broke my ankle. I came down wrong, twisted it, dislocated it, fractured it 6 in up the bone, broke it, had surgery with plates and 7 screws. Got better, started back to classes in just 6 months when the hardware caused more damage leading to another surgery where they removed 3 screws. NOW... one year, and 3 months later I have gained 50 lbs and lost most all the muscle in my right leg. I am ...

NOW... one year, and 3 months later I have gained 50 lbs and lost most all the muscle in my right leg. I am just starting to run again but the new weight on my body makes it hard on my ankle. I have found myself in a self pitty whoa is me mode and I have to get out of it.
I have a 12 year old black belt son and my big surprise 3 year old who keeps me so active I should be a toothpick. My husband is the love of my life and weve been married for 19 years coming up in March. He has supported me and loved me all the way. i have all the support I need I just have to get outta this funk Im in! This picture of me is with my son and 50 pounds ago! Im going to get there again!

I'm in the same boat as you..I had surgery on my ankle a few years ago and gained weight. I want to get back to being the old, healthier me! I have very low patience and tend to give up when things don't work easily. Hopefully this website really helps!

Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
