Here I go again on my own.

I am a married Mom of a 5 year-old. I am a chef at a major University, where I run the kitchen for the main dining on campus. We feed 4,000+ people a day, so I think about food. All. The. Time.
About 3 years ago I got fed up with knowing so much about food and still being overweight. So I got hyper-focused, and stayed eating healthier and working out. I lost 40 pounds (my original goal was 25-30! ) and was healthier than I've been since college. Then I got comfortable and ...

About 3 years ago I got fed up with knowing so much about food and still being overweight. So I got hyper-focused, and stayed eating healthier and working out. I lost 40 pounds (my original goal was 25-30! ) and was healthier than I've been since college. Then I got comfortable and stopped making a point of being healthy. Then I got a promotion with a lot more stress. Then my father-in-law had a stroke and nearly died with complications. At some point, I gave up all together and just stopped trying all together. I've since gained 20 lbs back, and gone up a size in clothes and frankly, those are really getting too snug as well.

This time through, I've decided to try a Primal approach, based on the Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. It just makes sense to me. Not sure how the family will like it, but I guess there's only one way to find out. Wish me luck!

My Goals:
1) lose 20 lbs.
2) workout primarily - walk a lot, lift some, sprints every week or so.
3) eat like they did in the Clan of the Cavebear series.

My Program:
The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. Will modify some but trying for the 80% compliance he recommends.

Personal Information:
Major bookstore and all-around nerd. Love all things sci-fi and fantasy. Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter... The list goes on forever.

Other Information:
I'll eat most anything except fungus of any kind, and anything where the texture is "wrong", by my own definition. (Love scallops, hate oysters.)
