Ch-ch-ch-changes! It's time to make a change!

So I've been down this road before, but I feel like I am in a place now where I can do this, even with the changes and ongoing fluctuations in my life at the moment. I am really motivated to be healthier- I am mostly over letting the scale dictate how I feel about my body. I want to be smaller, yes, but mostly, I want to be healthy.

My Goals:
To get healthy, lower my blood pressure and to stop being embarrassed about how I look

Also, to actually start and stick with the working out and eating healthy. I did this once before and ended up gaining back all I had lost plus some after moving.




My Program:
Eat balanced meals, keeping my carbs, fat and salt intake under control.

Stop eating fast food as often.

Make sure I eat some fruit & veggies every day, though my daily goal is 4-6 servings total.

Drink 8+ glasses of water a day.

Get some form of exercise every day, and at least 4 days a week do 30 + minutes of cardio (moderate to high intensity).

Weight/resistance training 2 or more days a week.

Just saw your post on the How often do you indulge thread and it has stuck with me tonight - as a yo-you dieter, that is. I'm trying to start yet again - and reading your posted quote, "You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it- Margaret Thatcher" was very encouraging. Thank you!
