Elly is back!!
Hello again after a long absence! I'm Elly, female, 29 years old (30 is around the corner, oh my gosh!!). Recently engaged, so now I have new motivation to get in shape!! About a month ago, I got this mega-flu, and it changed my life.... that is, I lost so much weight, so fast, that instead of feeling miserable, it became a "blessing in disguise" as my grandmother would say. Hello again after a long absence! I'm Elly, female, 29 years old (30 is around the corner, oh my gosh!!). Recently engaged, so now I have new motivation to get in shape!! About a month ago, I got this mega-flu, and it changed my life.... that is, I lost so much weight, so fast, that instead of feeling miserable, it became a "blessing in disguise" as my grandmother would say. I simply analyzed WHAT I had been doing differently while ill, and tried to keep it going once I felt better! (So far I am consistently down about 10lbs in about a month...unprecedented for me!) For me the 4 keys are: actually eating less (who knew!?!).... fasting in between meals, especially at night (it gives the body a chance to use fat for fuel).... cooking veggie-rich and tasty instead of eating out... and loosening the grip of sugar addiction. Oh and the 5th and perhaps biggest thing: weight loss has to start in your head! I had to have an "attitude adjustment" from spoiled and eating whatever I want, to putting simple food for fuel into the body. That's enough for now - what I really want on here is connection with others... I already have the habit of weighing myself daily and logging all my food, so I'm getting on track pretty well so far... just encouragement from others is what I really want. I will do my best to be supportive too!

My Goals:
Lose 20lbs for my wedding in June (from 180 to 160). Incorporate good habits, helpful attitudes, so that weight is less and less of a struggle and eventually takes care of itself.
