The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. Psalm 145:14

The Jesus Prayer helps to lift the whole life, body and soul, to a level where the senses and imagination no longer seek for outward change or stimulation, where all is subordinated to the one aim of centering the whole attention of body and soul upon God, in the sense that the world is sought and known in the beauty of God, not God in the beauty of the world. - Mother Maria of Normanby

Thank you for your comment on Cagney Joy's picture. "What a beautiful kitty! Is she a kitten to Lola?" Afraid not, she is a shelter cat that a neighbor adopted, then I talked the neighbor into giving her to me when they moved. Their kids were allergic and she became an outdoor cat and was kind of neglected except for buddying up with me. I had Lola fixed which was probably a shame, I sure wouldn't have minded a clone.

Being around children as often as I am has been a true learning experience. I may not be a young woman, however, I am finding out many things from this beautiful little people.

Life is not boring to me, it is not mundane. It is full of wonder, pleasing smells, awesome colors, beautiful creatures, and breathtaking moments. Children know how to enjoy and appreciate life.

This is what I have learn from children: I think there is a secret to enjoying life more that most people overlook. A hidden way to feel so much more full every single day and it hides in its deceptive simplicity. Itís this: Love every single living thing you find and see them all through wondering eyes. Appreciate the details, notice the colors and textures and imagine you are seeing it for the very first time. See things as new.

What wonderful beauty is all around us.

There is nothing that we can give to the Lord to repay His goodness and mercy but we can give offering of praise to show our gratitude.

I love Orthodox icons. I have two children from Ukraine that were technically Greek Orthodox. I have gone to a Greek Orthodox mass and had to have someone explain to me what was going on. I didn't understand the significance of the gates and going in and out. I am Roman Catholic, so it was different, but some of the same.
