I am trying to simplify my life. I am trying to apply the lessons my daughter teaches me and reminds me of: it's not about dieting, Mom! Who can "diet" long-term? It's not about deprivation. Who can subject themselves to deprivation long-term and how can that be "natural"?

It's about balance.

It's about taking the time and care to pick out food and drink that are great, not mediocre, not convenient, not a "good value" because the big bag costs less than the little bag.

It's about eating and tasting, not eating and inhaling.

It's about eating 10 shoestring fries dusted with parmesan and parsley and relishing every one, not buying the big basket and mindlessly pushing them in until you eventually realize you - surprise! - finished them all and you can't even remember doing it.

Here we go! Finding my way away from emotional eating and back to pleasure-based, hunger-based eating.

Sharing my thoughts along the way.

My Goals:
1. Stop the roller coaster.
2. Reclaim myself.

My Program:
Moderation in amount.
Appreciation in abundance.
Loosely based on the "French approach" as captured in a multitude of books.
But really all about watching my daughter's great habits and approach which were once mine and then not mine.

Personal Information:
Avid reader.
Strongly analytical and i can let all that analysis get in the way of common sense!

Other Information:
My time is limited.
Hopefully, that will be the only whack on the head I need to make the changes I have to make to reclaim myself.

    You are soooooo right! I have made it an art raging on myself. It's time stop and start with some self-love and appreciation. It's time to recognize when goals are met and reward ourselves.

    I just joined the VB6 team. I'm just getting started with it. I wondered have you experienced weight loss with this plan when you have been on plan? I read on amazon that someone lost 100 pounds on this plan. I am sticking with fruits and veggies for breakfast, lunch, and snacks before 6. I just can't do the grains. How has it been going for you?
