Tracking the Ptarmigan

Follow the tracks of a plump Alaska bird--grandmother, bookworm, fanatic knitter, water aerobics teacher--as she attempts to make shallower dents in the snow.

Other Information:
My favorite quote from Birdie, a Spark Person who lost 140 lbs: Know that for every day that you have stayed within your calorie limits, you have used a little of your fat stores.

The scale is only a guide. If you stayed within your calorie range, you did not deposit any new fat on your body. Tell yourself that the scale can sometimes hold on to extra water, leading you to think that you are not making any progress. Before you go to bed, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, "I stayed within my calorie range today; therefore I did not gain any fat." Tell yourself that and stay on plan.

emoticon for the tissues, they will come in very handy as I am on box 4 at the moment. However I am coughing up the greenblies and expect to be feeling much better soon. Thank you, too for bringing a smile to my dial.

I liked your remark on my Fifi's brain blog about serving yourself a portion and that is that. Actually it seems like an awesome trick, to me. So awesome that I am not quite ready for it yet. But I can see how that would simplify eating, you choose what you want once, then no faffing about afterwards. Might just tuck that one away for later...

"If you celebrate your differentness, the world will, too.
It believes exactly what you tell it—through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take to care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. Tell the world you are one-of-a-kind creation who came here to experience wonder and spread joy."
