Tracking the Ptarmigan

Follow the tracks of a plump Alaska bird--grandmother, bookworm, fanatic knitter, water aerobics teacher--as she attempts to make shallower dents in the snow.

Other Information:
My favorite quote from Birdie, a Spark Person who lost 140 lbs: Know that for every day that you have stayed within your calorie limits, you have used a little of your fat stores.

The scale is only a guide. If you stayed within your calorie range, you did not deposit any new fat on your body. Tell yourself that the scale can sometimes hold on to extra water, leading you to think that you are not making any progress. Before you go to bed, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, "I stayed within my calorie range today; therefore I did not gain any fat." Tell yourself that and stay on plan.

emoticon Spark Buddie,

My message to help motivate you & ( Especialy ) Me this week is

“Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”
– Stacey Charter

Have a Fabulous Week !!!

Wow, thank you for the trophy. I think that is a first for me! I'm sorry to say that August will not be as good for me because I'll be out of the pool for a week with vacation. I am so glad I can do water aerobics during our Y renovation but I am definitely missing my daily lap swims. I've been going to another pool to swim laps on the weekend, but the schedule doesn't work for me during the week.
