Hi, my name is Clive McGrory or MAC to my friends. I am 59 years old and live in a small village near Falkirk, Scotland. In fact it is so small that it comprises one street, 50 houses and a small primary school. The beauty of the place is that at the back of my house is a village park which is protected as a site of natural beauty and also has a part that even the villagers cannot enter without permission as it contains some rare flowers. My main interests are cooking, reading and the internet although during the summer months cricket is a priority and I will be glued to the TV for a lot of the time. I live with my wife, Mary, and daughter, Patricia, and my mother, Beryl. My mother joined us up here 7 years ago as she found she could no longer take care of herself properly. Since she came she has got back to the Mum I knew as a child and she is once more enjoying herself, (she is 84 this year). I am disabled and so is my daughter. I have multiple disabilities which mean that I require a wheelchair to travel distance but I am fortunate in that I can still get about the house with the aid of a delta walker, and am increasing my mobility range slowly through managd exercise. I do require some assistance at night and my daughter has drawn the short straw as my wife also has a full time job. Activity wise I generally do the housework and cook for my mother and the garden is also my responsibility. I am able to garden with the aid of a modified shopping trolley which enables me to sit whilst using full size tools. I attend a local church and part of that is baking for the after service get together. There is also a lunch club which meets every Tuesday and I sometimes do the main cooking for that also, although we do have a lady who heats everything up or cooks herself and generally everyone pitches in to serve up and wash the dishes afterwards. I generally have a good quality of life and I like to keep a smile going whenever I can. I am an eternal optimist and know that even when things are not going well there is always hope around the corner and that a better and brighter future awaits us all.

Good morning Mac!

Thank you so much for the floral bouquet of the goodie that you sent my way and for all of the encouraging and uplifting words that you wrote! I have been so busy with homeschooling this year in getting in preparation for my grandson's first year in high school this upcoming school year, that I can hardly keep my head above water at times.I thank God that He has sent this type of schooling our way, and I do not want to fail in my endeavors.

I try to keep up with the team, but I realize I have not been posting very much there… I will try to hop in when I can (LOL)! I have been thinking about making my journey more peaceful and so I came up with this thought that I would like to share with you if you don't mind:

"Have more PEACE… Not PIECES!"

Have a blessed day and wonderful journey to the new you!
Thank you so much for being a friend!

Paula

emoticon for dropping by my page and reading my blog. I will answer the questions first off. As to the dry ness of the home it is completely dry in all but 2 areas.. Both are at the towers due to them not being finished yet. This was one reason I was trying to finish the 2nd tower the taller one before winter set in. The first tower is sealed mostly but the top rubber roof was not quit large enough and allows some water to leak down. Being old school as you are ,my skills with wood are getting better but I wish we lived closer, as I am sure your knowledge would be a wonderful blessing in advice and general all around help.
My priority : Install wood burner and make it safe. 2. Finish 3 doors and then the towers to be finished when the roof and weather allow. I fell and almost slid off a year or so ago working when it was slick thus I know better lol

The head n toes are always the first to be finished in the old school thought.

My roof is overly supported with logs as well as timbers but will eventually need replaced (easier once we live there for sure)
However, the footers and foundation are amazing. 2 to 3 feet wide and 3 plus feet deep foot with a 6 inch (sometimes 15 inches ) floating slab floor. I am going to blog on what to do next hehe
