Ever since I was a little girl, I have always struggled with being "chubby." As a teenager I was pretty slim and trim, but my sometimes carefree personality and need for immediate self-gratification led me in the wrong direction. I have had some successes in loosing weight over the years. I have lost 50 pounds twice in my 44 years of life. As a teenager I was pretty slim and trim, but my sometimes carefree personality and need for immediate self-gratification led me in the wrong direction. I have had some successes in loosing weight over the years. I have lost 50 pounds twice in my 44 years of life. This time I want to be realistic and lose the weight as an example of hope for my children in their adult years. I want to be healthy and strong for them and continue an exercise and eating wise way of living for as long as I live. I have high hopes that Spark People will be a big help along the way.

My Goals:
To stay within the parameters of what I should be doing -- eating a reasonable caloric intake and thinking about what I'm grabbing to eat before it gets in my mouth! Developing a lifestyle change and different mindset. Naming 5 things I'm thankful for every day!
My Program:
I'm participating in this fall's challenge with the Families Fighting Fat team and hoping for extra motivation from it. I'm excited about doing something new!
Personal Information:
I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, and I love it here! I have a marvelous husband and three wonderful children! God has been very good to me!
Other Information:
I love a good story and love to read. It's hard for me to read motivational-type books, although I do learn from them when I take the time. I enjoy a good movie very much, and my favorites are The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Jane Austin movies. I do love hiking and I love to travel!
