I have started in April 2007 to get down to only "overweight" and not "obese". I need to hit that 184 mark to make that goal.
I have started with the first two weeks, just counting calories. I told myself that if I absolutely hated my life at that point, I could stop. Update: Two months later, and not sticking to things as I should, time to hit the gym! Goal is to go 3 times a week to start.
I was an athlete in high school and put myself through college. I was still very active until about 8 years ago, and that's when I lost a foothold on my weight. I'll be 35 next month, and really want to enter my mid-thirties looking and feeling great!
