Wendy, you are worth it!

I am a 53 year old woman of British origin living in Germany. I have three beautiful daughters and 1 sweet granddaughter. I have been podgy and unfit for the last 7 years and am fed up (to the gills) of that - itīs time to move! I am reading a lot about self-sabotage and mindless eating - getting to grips with cravings by drinking green smoothies!

I am 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighed in at 67 kilos in August 2012 - my goal weight is 58 kilos.

Update April 2013: I arrived at my goal weight and feel great!

Update Juni 2013: getting to grips with maintenance mode and very relieved that I am managing to incorporate exercise (mainly running and swimming) on a regular basis to my new active lifestyle- I really feel out of sorts now if I have a lazy day!!

Update March 14: drinking my greens for a change - hope the scales like them too!! At the moment I am working on getting below 58 kg again, 59.4 kg at the moment, so it can be done!

My Goals:
I want to look better in clothes, feel more confident at work and just to move at a faster pace than up til now and have more general energy.
Update 8th April 2013: I have lost 9 kilos and definately look more streamlined in my clothes. I move a lot faster than I used to and enjoy running up stairs, jogging through the park or whizzing around on my bike now. My bosses and co-workers have noticed that I question decisions more often and make suggestions on how to re-assess certain work processes - all in all, I have come a long way in the last 8 months!

My Program:
tracking my nutrition and fitness and jogging/walking as well as a dumbbell-workout and general gymnastics/dancing in the sitting room. Swimming two to three times a week for 45 mins.

Other Information:
March 2013: I have lost about 90% of the weight I want to get rid of - feeling postive that I will make it this time around - I am fed up of giving up!!
Update April 2013: I am within 100 grams of my goal weight of 58kg and am amazed at all the changes I have been able to make in the last 8 months thanks to SparkPeople and all itīs brave Sparkies!
Update 18.4.13: I weighed in at 57.7kg, surpassing my goal - WooHoo!
I write different types of lyrics and poems, sing in a female choir and enjoy travelling to different countries as well as reading quite a lot. I also love gardening!

Thanks for the great comment on my blog! I've been "All out ripped", and it's something that you know is temporary. NO ONE can live like that for very long. At least, not someone who wants to stay healthy.

Glad to hear your Whole30 is going well so far! I can't believe today is day 25 for me. It's funny how when I think about what I want to add back in after day 30, I'm not sure there's a lot I need to be eating otherwise.

Cucumber, carrots and fancy sauce sounds fabulous!! :D You are so sweet and supportive and you are always offering an encouraging word to me and it means SOOO much to me. When you said it was the "best news of the week to you", it made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, and that is not easy to do!! Thanks soooo much!!! emoticon emoticon
