I joined Sparkpeople in January, 2011. I trained for and ran my first marathon in March, 2011. Loved it! I really enjoy running, and don't seem to struggle with fitting exercise in. Even with all the running, my weight was really too high for my height. Food tracking made me much more aware of what I was eating! Along the way, I've been changing my and my family's diet away from processed foods and towards a more local and organic diet.

Hey there, I saw you are from Crozet on the VA sparkteam. I live there too, in Old trail. Are you doing the 4miler?? I just started running about a month ago and am training for that. Crozet rocks doesn't it??

Ha! Ha! Yes... My weight was a struggle until I added swimming & biking, started tracking my calories and went almost all vegetarian.
Thanks for the friend add... Adding you too. :)
Happy running!

Um, YES. The Marine Corps Historic Half was QUITE a bit hillier than Shamrock. My time was 10 minutes slower...but, I'm ok with that. I had to walk most miles 10 and 11 (stupid Hospital Hill).

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Debra

I signed up for the MCM 10K since I have RNR Savanaha the next weekend and can just change it to the full instead of the half. I am also doing Army 10 miler and the Wilson Bridge half marathon which would be a good training run for MCM.
