UPDATE-Spark 1 year anniversary: I have lost a lot of weight, gained strength, confidence, smaller clothes, and sunnier outlook and am getting my health back. One year ago I was out of breath, in pain all the time, not sleeping well, unhappy, and tired. I have NOT reached goal in the time sparkpeople magically set for me. That bummed me out for a while, but I have since decided that no one else is me. I will do this in however much time it takes ME. I will keep pursuing a lifestyle of better choices, and I WILL get there in my own good time. In the meantime, I aim to enjoy this new body, energy, and health. Join me? PREVIOUS-Day One: I am finding it more difficult to lose weight as I age, and harder to get around. I have injured myself twice (torn gluteal muscle, and injured shoulder) when regularly exercising, and now have a fear of doing it again.

My Goals:
I'd like to feel healthy and energetic. I also would like to get off the handful of medication I take every day. If I look good as well, that is just a bonus. I am tired of feeling sluggish, used up, and too tired to do anything but sleep. 8/26 UPDATE: I am feeling more energetic. I have lost 35 pounds. I am off some meds. I am beginning to feel like this new life is a true habit. I still like my sweets, so I have to watch that my calories are used well. Still have a way to go, and it is OH SO SLOW, but there isn't a time limit on this. If I die 10 pounds overweight, I WON'T have died 60 pounds overweight, and will have enjoyed a more comfortable life.
My Program:
UPDATED FOR 2012 1-Drink 8 glasses of water EVERY day 2-Eat 5-7 freggies a day 3-Exercise 5 days per week 4-Lose 4 pounds in Jan 2012 to get to the 145 mark.- I made it! NOW, lose 4 pounds in February to hit 140 mark. 5-Add strength training into my fitness routine to shape those muscles and get them on my side. 6-Keep tracking food and exercise. 7-Measure portions once in a while to keep honest.
Other Information:
I love to read. I have a nook that goes everywhere I go. My reward is often an hour to read with a cup of tea by the fire.
