Determined To Do It!!

I am 38 years old. I have been a dieter my whole life. I have never been "naturally thin." I have pictures of myself at 8 years old and already I was "pudgy."

I have had 3 children.......ages 15, 11, and 7. I have always watched my weight, but I want to be firm again. I want to lose 10 pounds and firm up! I am finding losing weight is MUCH harder at 38 than it was in my twenties!

Well it has now been about 5 months since I've joined ...

Well it has now been about 5 months since I've joined Sparkpeople, and I am at my goal weight and finding out what it is like to try to maintain my weight. It still requires everyday attention and I am doing that. I still weigh myself daily to make sure my weight doesn't get out of control. I am still trying to exercise 3 days a week but some days I am doing 30 minutes instead of an hour. I feel good about myself and am glad I have lost the weight and am doing pretty good maintaining it. I feel firmer and not as flabby as I once was. I appreciate Sparkpeople.....it has been a great help and I have met many good friends along the way. :)

My Goals:
1. Exercise at least 3-4 days a week. 2. Stay away from flour and sugar. 3. Keep an eye on calories & carbs. Maintain a weight of approximately 105.
4. Be positive and try my best to be confident.

My Program:
I am trying to exercise at least 3-4 times a week. I walk on my Nordic Track mostly or ride a stationary bike. I weigh in most every day and try to keep a close eye on my weight so I can keep it under control. I eat low carb except for a day or two a week I will have a 'cheat' meal. I still love sweets and indulge in sugar free chocolate.

Personal Information:
I live in Southern IL. I am separated. I have 3 wonderful, beautiful children who are the central part of my life. I have one dog named Penny and a cat named Buddy. I am an animal lover. :)

Other Information:
I am very interested in weight loss and exercise. I appreciate my freedom and the privilege of simply being able to live life. I am a positive person. Negativity eats me up inside.
I love music, especially country music. It is an every day part of my life.....I love going to concerts. My 3 children are the most important part of my life.

I'm okay with you floating in and out as long as you don't leave for good. LOL. You are so beautiful that I don't think a couple of extra pounds will hurt you but I know you have worked hard and want to keep the weight off.

I am still cheating way too much too. I have got to stop buying this stuff because if it isn't here I can't eat it. I find myself eating my husband's and son's snacks and we are all gaining weight!!

I can totally relate. Right now I could eat a horse and would be looking for crackers to put it on. LOL. I want to eat constantly and have to stop myself. I hope it's fleeting. Something I'm eating is triggering me though and I'm not sure what. I've got to knuckle under and ride it out.

I'm around if I can help in any way.

Hi!!! It's good to see you again. I'm hanging in there. Not losing but not gaining either. Not really serious enough to make the scale move in the right direction. Are you still in maintenance?
