Hey! I just saw a comment you left on one of my blog posts from last week, you asked me how I stuck to healthy eating in college. Sorry that I didn't get back to you!
Well, at both of the dining halls we have there are always apples, bananas, and the occasional oranges. Each day I would make sure to have an apple and banana. I would also grab whatever fruit was available to take with me out the door so that I had fruit for breakfast in my dorm room the next morning. We also have a salad bar in each dining hall. Before going to check what hot meals had been made for the day I first would stop at the salad bar and grab some veggies. This made my plate halfway full before heading to the unhealthy foods. It helped a lot that my roommate is also an avid Spark People user. She always helped me keep my plate and meals balanced. I know there is a big problem with the easy to attain deserts and soda in my dining halls. I would always try to drink water or fruit juice and have soda as a last resort. When picking a dessert I did not deprive myself of the yummy stuff, I just tried to moderate.
